The position

Light mode is not the enemy. Pure white is not banned. And no single background color can make a design accessible by itself.

The point is simpler: the largest area of a website does not automatically need to use #FFFFFF. Slightly quieter backgrounds can improve hierarchy, make white surfaces useful, and produce a light interface that feels considered.

The current state

This is a working editorial and technical foundation. The guides, examples, and visual identity are designed to be refined over time without requiring a rebuild of the underlying site.
